What is the best cruise line for a family of 4 with young teens?

We are looking to take a cruise next Spring and would like to know what cruise line is the best for teens but we don’t want the ship to be full of college spring breakers. What cruise line is good for families? We want to go the Caribbean prefer Western leaving from a FL port. Would like a newer ship and don’t mind spending a little bit more for nicer room/balcony and a ship with more teen friendly amenities.

I’m just 21 and went last year on a Carnival ship, it was the Fantasy, which is an old ship, but all of Carnival’s ships have been remodeled. I’m actually getting married on one I liked it so much :) The Inspiration out of Tampa next June… But I like Carnival because the activities aboard are entertaining, like dance shows, a comedian I’d seen on TV, cool water slides, etc. The excursions are also amazing, we did the Jeep and Snorkel in Cozumel, which was beautiful, and we also did the excursion to see the Mayan pyramid Chichen Itza out of Progreso, Mexico. That was a long drive, but the site was really cool. No beaches in Progreso though, it wasn’t as nice as Cozumel at all… I also like Carnival’s feature that if you book an excursion with them, they will hold the boat for you if your group is delayed. When we went to the pyramid, two people were 45 minutes later than us returning, and they held the whole cruise ship for our one bus. In my opinion it is perfect for teens, I can’t wait to take my little sister on the cruise, she will be 14. If you want a new ship the Dream is brand new and doing 7 day cruises to the Caribbean, it will be sailing by Spring. I wanted to use that one for my wedding but my in-laws couldn’t take a whole week off plus travel…

    Princess Cruises.

they even have like a teen group that has their own room and we got to do lots of fun stuff. And, you meet new people your age.

Disney is kid friendly. The whole boat will be designed with kid safety in mind. Not that they would fall off the boat or anything. But that you won’t have to worry about them getting into more trouble than they can handle. Also all the guests will be kid friendly too. I think both the teens and mom and dad would enjoy it a lot!

Royal Caribbean. They have huge ships with tons of activities including an ice skating show, a "mall" with all kinds of shops, rock climbing, and live music. Everyone will love it.

I would suggest the Disney Cruise Line. at first glance it may sound like it’s all catered towards younger kids, but there’s actually a lot for adults and teens to do. clubs, lounges, nice restaurants, pools, a musical show, and lots of other great things that your family could all do together.

I highly recommend the Disney Cruiseline. There are plenty of kids of all ages and they have great kids & teen programs. There is so much to do and the teens will love it. You may have time together and time where they are perfectly happy hanging in the teen club or doing teen activities so you and your husband/mate will have some nice time together in the adult only areas of the ship. There is no experience like a Disney experience.
I think that all of you will fall in love with the Disney Cruiseline and it’s crew. I have been on 3, 4, 7, 14 & 16 night cruises and it is awesome.

How old are they? If there 16-21 I’d reccomend Norwegian cruise line for kids. Go to NCL.com and they have lots of good cruises to go to especially the carribean, bermuda. They even have slides for the kids, soda programs and all other good stuff. Check it out.Hope this helps.

Celebrity Cruises. They have activities for Jr Teens 12 – 14 yrs old and Sr. Teens 15-17. They also have Ensigns 9-11. Celebrity has ships with several decks that have balcony staterooms. Celebrity Cruises does go to the Caribbean and leaves from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Teens hang out in an environment that doesn’t have adults right by their side but they have youth staff watching from a distance.

I have been on two cruises and am going on another one in a week. I have been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean was better by far. There was lots to do and we are taking that line again next week. It wasn’t just me either, my whole family (15 of us) all like Royal Caribbean better. The food is great and our stops are amazing. My grandma has been on at least 10 and says that Princess cruises definitely have more older people on them.
