Reasons Why People Choose To Cruise Travel

Why do people choose to go on cruises, instead of booking a plane flight? One thing that attracts people to these large boats and cruises is the food. Not only does a cruise offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, they also offer midnight buffets, afternoon snack buffets, ice cream bars and 24-hour room service! There is a veritable open bar on food. You can eat casually or formally. You can have a large meal or a small meal. You can eat with hundreds of people or privately. Keep in mind, of course, that the quality of the cruise line determines the quality of the food. Also remember that many of the cruise ships are feeding approximately 2000 people 10 meals per day!

A cruise offers everything you could possibly want from a getaway: entertainment, relaxation, great food, and variety. Next time, don’t overlook that great big boat out in the harbor.

Entertainment is another attraction. Most cruise lines run full-scale production shows, have live bands, and/or add other specials for the children. The Disney® Cruise line offers meals with Disney characters and special entertainment geared towards the younger crowd. Floating casinos adorn most cruise ships to the delight of many adults who use this as their evening entertainment. Having activities planned throughout the entire day, some cruise lines are like floating day camps. You can be as active or inactive as you choose to be.

Cruises offer one-stop-shopping. Variety. One flight plus one boat equals lots of different locations. It would be impossible to attempt to visit each port individually outside of a cruise line. It would be very expensive and much too time consuming. There would be no time for fun. Once aboard the ship, you leave only to visit the places of port. No need to pack and unpack. No need for unnecessary travel. On the ship, you have any number of things to keep you entertained while waiting for the next docking.

Carnival® Cruises is great for the first time cruiser. It has many departure sites around the country. Land and sea prices are available for those who need to fly to a port of departure. Just a few of the destinations to which Carnival® Cruise Lines will take you include: the Bahamas, Aruba, St. Thomas, St. John, San Juan Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, the Keys, Cozumel, Hawaii, Alaska, Martinique and Barbados.

Celebrity® Cruises is higher-end. It has a sophisticated AquaSpa on board and sports a unique art collection on the Galaxy ship as well. Celebrity® has received a 5-star rating for its cuisine (not food but cuisine). If all of that is not impressive enough, it also includes an in-cabin entertainment and information center.

Radisson® Seven Seas, Seaborn® Cruises and Windstar® Cruises offer even more luxury than the Celebrity® line. The Radisson® offers the ultimate luxurious experience by managing suites only. It also offers unique destinations such as Tahiti, French Polynesia, Antarctica, the Mediterranean, and Europe. The Windstar® line has romantic trimasted ships and sail to the Caribbean, The Americas, the Greek Isles and Europe.

As you can see, there are cruise lines for everyone. These lines are just a few of the many options of cruises. But every line has something which makes it unique, so you might want to do some research to make sure you find the cruise you were looking for.

    where should we get married?
Since parents can be so damn rude I’m reposting in the right section.Me and my fiance are choosing between Vegas and a cruise. I’m leaning towards Vegas, he’s leaning towards a cruise. Some of my reasons for preferring Vegas are: if we go on a cruise, it won’t be a wedding cruise because they are too expensive it will be more like a honeymoon cruise with us getting married in the court house before hand. Another reason is we don’t have a lot of money and have been saving up for quite some time. People on cruises usually have nice clothes and other things that we don’t have. I want to go to Vegas so we can actually have somewhat of a wedding. My aunt spent $3000 in vegas that included the wedding, travel, hotel, food, gambling, everything, we will spend a lot more if we go on a cruise in the summer after travel expenses. I have other reasons but there are a couple. I know we both need to compromise and decide together. I’m not good at organizing my thoughts when I’m trying to convince someone of something. Can anyone help me organize my thoughts so that he may actually listen?
No one will be attending, its just going to be a private thing no matter where we decide to do it.

I see what you’re saying. Vegas would be a great place to have your wedding because it would cost less to have the wedding you both desire. A cruise would be a better honeymoon. Plus if you got married in Vegas you could have your honeymoon on a cruise ship. That would be a great compromise!

Vegas all the way, this is an ideal place to have your wedding because it would cost less to have the wedding you both desire. A cruise would be an excellent honeymoon. And if you get married in Vegas you could have your honeymoon on a cruise ship in places like Spain, or Italy now how fun would that be? This would be an excellent compromise!
The best of luck to you both

If you’re trying to convince him, as you state at the end, then you’re doing more than "leaning" towards Vegas! It’s what you want. There’s nothing wrong with that, though…it’s just that some of your reasons for not wanting a cruise aren’t exactly true. People can be super casual on them, and as for expenses, even if you’re in the midwest, a bunch of cruises leave from Galveston (Houston) so you might be overestimating expenses.

It’s hard to compromise on this, unless you check into a cruise on Lake Mead as a compromise! (I don’t even know if there is such a thing).

Anyway, I think the best way to organize your thoughts is to focus on his reasons for NOT wanting Las Vegas, rather than putting down the cruise idea. He must have some. And then you have to figure out whether his reasons can be dealt with, or whether he truly doesn’t want to do Las Vegas. It’s definitely a unique type experience and it’s not for everyone. If he’s in that group, then maybe your only choice is to toss out both ideas and start from scratch.

I think the big issue here is that you want to make sure that the expenses of the wedding stay within the budget you have. That is very very wise. Cruises have a way of becoming much more expensive than the initial price, for all the reasons you mentioned. Having the wedding in Vegas will make it much easier to stay within the budget. Maybe compromise, and have the wedding in Vegas. But then save up to have your first vacation together on a cruise in 1-2 years.

Or another kind of compromise – have a small wedding and reception at home, then save up for a lavish vacation in Vegas or on a cruise.

Sounds like you just did a pretty decent job of organizing your thoughts yourself. What do you need us for?
